5 Tips To Help You Put The Social Back Into Social Media
One thing I have learned as a Social Media Marketing Consultant is that the only way to get customers to care about your company enough to buy from you is to get Social!
Social Media is supposed to make individuals and businesses alike more social, yet only few brands use it the way it's supposed to be used: as a communication tool. Social Media is about fostering relationships with your existing customers and building relationships with your potential customers. In order to build and nurture these relationships you have to actively engage with them, you have to put the Social back into Social Media.
Don't know how to get your audience to engage with you? Here are few tips on how you can get them to engage with your brand and put the Social back into Social Media:
Know: In order for you to really get your audience to engage with you, you have to know who they are in the first place. Do your research, learn about your audience's demographics, psychographics and behavioristics so that you can create the right Social Media Strategy for them.
Listen: Pay close attention to your metrics, compare your post's engagements and see what works really well and what doesn't. This will allow you to better tailor your Social Media strategy to your audience and increase engagement for your brand.
Post Engaging Content: Even if your end goal is to sell a product with your posts, try not to be too sales-y. Instead create informative post or lifestyle images with your products that make them want to buy. For example, if you are a boutique share some styling advice with your audience, this is a great way to get your audience's attention, trust and entice them to buy your products at the same time.
Start a Conversation with your Caption: Ask your audience a question or ask for their thoughts or opinions. It shows your audience that you care about what them and value their opinions.
Like, Comment, Follow, Re-post: Have you ever had your favorite brand like your photos, comment on your photo or even followed you? Yes? Were you happy? Did you go and tell everyone you know? Did the people you tell, checked out that brand for themselves, followed, and even bought from that brand? Then you know how powerful a simple like, comment and follow can be. So Stop Selling and Start Engaging!
